A great new track for Formula 1 in the US!
For my first F1 race in person, I absolutely loved the experience. The facility was great, and hopefully they will rectify some opening day issues for future events. It did come down to the wire in getting the track ready for this event.
The organization of traffic to and from the venue was the best I've ever seen for any event. The location and staff were great, with everyone being extremely friendly and helpful. They had a great mix of food and activities around the race. Hopefully that is not a one time thing.
The amenities offered were pretty good, and getting around the track was easy. The pedestrian shuttles need better marked signage for pick-up and drop off points. At turn one, the path is too narrow for the foot traffic there.
The lack of public wi-fi or ATT cell enhancements was a downside. By late morning, your cell phone was useless due to the overloaded network. For the main race days, getting onto shuttle buses to leave the facility was a two-hour affair. Shuttles and vehicles sharing the same entrance and exits need to be separated for a more efficient flow of traffic.
Even with those issues, it was a great facility. Over the three days we were there, we saw adjustments being made to improve some of the issues as best they could. Overall, it was a great experience.
